Two people die as car crashes into tree in Staplehurst Road, Marden

Two people have died after their car crashed into a tree.

The double tragedy happened in Staplehurst Road, Marden, at around 10.40pm yesterday.

Both of the occupants of a blue Mercedes died at the scene.

No further details have been released about those involved.

The crash happened just hours before a man was hit and killed by a car in Chatham, in what was a busy night for the emergency services.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.
