Tonbridge: LEGO fire engine visits pupils at Yardley Court school

A fire engine made from 110,000 Lego bricks surprised pupils at a Tonbridge school today.

The visit was a treat for Lego and emergency service enthusiast Luke Bray, a pupil at Yardley Court, off Tudley Road.

The eight-year-old entered a competition to win a full set of Lego City fire service sets for him and his classmates, celebrating the work of emergency services in the community.

Pupils couldn’t wait to jump aboard the model engine, which took more than 1,000 hours to build, and even head teacher John Coakley got inside the cab.

Luke said: “It is not often you get to see a fire engine made out of 110,000 Lego bricks. It was really exciting and an amazing experience. Epic in fact.”
