Jack Ralph to have psychiatric report prepared over 'murder' of mother and daughter in Hadlow

A judge has given time for psychiatric reports to be prepared in the case of a 28-year-old man accused of murdering a mother and daughter.

Jack Ralph is alleged to have killed Margaret Harris, 78, and her daughter, 55-year-old Sharon, in Hadlow on Saturday, September 29.

He is also accused of the attempted murder of Margaret Harris’ husband David.

The mother and daughter died from stab wounds at the scene in Carpenters Lane.

David Harris, also 78, suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to a London hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.

Ralph, of Carpenters Lane, was not present for the brief hearing at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Judge David Griffith-Jones QC allowed Orla Daley, defending, until January 4 to serve a psychiatric report on the prosecution.

Video: Police were called to the scene back in September.

He will now enter pleas to the three charges on January 31 next year.

A provisional trial date before a High Court judge has been set for March 5 next year.
