Tonbridge teenager charged with possessing a knife in a public place after arrest at Marden station

A teenager has been charged after a machete-style knife was discovered in a public place.

Alfie Chandler, of Forge Close, Five Oak Green, in Tonbridge was arrested after a chase by police on foot.

Officers attended Marden station in Maidstone on Monday, March 11, after a report of suspicious activity in an area where bicycles are left.

Three people were stopped and spoken to, one of whom is reported to have run from the scene.

He was chased and arrested.

A machete-style knife was seized from a nearby area.

On Tuesday, March 12, Alfie Chandler was charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

The 18-year-old has been bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 2.
