Cup tie ref books 10 and dismisses four

ANGRY Tonbridge player-manager Colin Blewden described the referee as a "total disgrace" after he had sent off four players and booked 10 others in an incident packed AXA sponsored FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Horsham.

Blewden said the referee's performance was a joke and added that he had completely lost the plot.

"We were forced to play most of the match with nine men and it took its toll in the end when they scored twice in the last 10 minutes to win 2-0," said Blewden.

Defender Alan Tutton was the first Angels player to get his marching orders in the fifth minute when he was harshly judged to have retaliated after being kicked. Midfield man Paul Chambers followed 25 minutes later. A Horsham player feigned injury by going down in the penalty area holding his head and Chambers was sent off.

Two Horsham players were dismissed in the 60th and 75 minutes, both for two bookable offences.

Meanwhile Tonbridge have signed striker Mo Tako on a month's loan from Margate and he is expected to make his debut in the Dr Martens League, Eastern Division, home game against Stamford on Saturday.
