KM Football Podcast 25 - Steve McKimm

ByMatthew Panting

You didn't mess around when Steve McKimm was on the pitch and he brought the same no-nonsense approach into our recording studio this week.

McKimm recalled memories of his title win at Gravesend & Northfleet and the fall-out with Bill Williams which led to him joining the club in the first place.

The midfielder had some great times at Stonebridge Road but also battled serious injury and illness - even fearing he had cancer at one stage.

Find out which of his Margate team-mates stripped off in front of directors and who McKimm credits for launching his career in management.

McKimm has got Tonbridge Angels fighting for promotion but he reveals how close he came to quitting Longmead earlier this season.
