Ladies from Nizels Golf and Country Club reigned in Spain after winning the grand finals of a UK-wide tournament.
Nikki Jones, Carol Turl, Adele Young, Pat Morecroft, Gina Phillips and Janette Withey made up a five-person plus reserve squad for the Annodata UK Golf Club Classic showdown at Jerez.
East Devon, Leigh (Cheshire) and Charnwood Forest (Leicestershire) joined Nizels to complete the line-up, with the Tonbridge club - in their first Annodata finals - meeting Charnwood in the final.
Nizels' journey to the final four began last June as around 400 clubs entered the 2021 competition. With glory now at stake, cool heads and calm nerves were vital and the Nizels squad had them in abundance.
The first win went to Morecroft on the par-three 14th and win number two, for Young, came on the 16th.
Turl, playing at No.3, was one-up going down the 18th and played a great putt just off the green to secure her the win at two-up.
At the same time Withey won her match 3&1 and Phillips was two-up going down the 17th, so did not need to finish.
Lady captain Shirley Spencer was one of the supporters who accompanied the team.
“It was such a privilege to watch the girls play and it was great entertainment - their determination to win was simply inspiring," she said.
"The kindred spirit and camaraderie shared between the teams was evident to see, especially when I heard a caddy from the opposing team actually say they have never enjoyed a match so much as with Janette and Nikki from Nizels.”
