Penshurst: New Road partially blocked after crash involving a car and motorcyclist

A motorcyclist has been flown to a London hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Penshurst this afternoon.

The accident happened south of the village on New Road around noon, leaving the route partially blocked near the turning to Saints Hill.

Emergency services, including police, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene.

The biker was taken to King's College Hospital and the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The B2188 was closed until 4.30pm between the junction with Saints Hill and at the junction with Spring Hill. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

A spokesman for SECAmb, said: "The driver of the other vehicle was fully conscious and examined at the scene for potential injuries received due to the impact and they were taken to Pembury hospital for further assessment."
