When crews arrived a doctor, believed to be from nearby Rowan Tree Surgery, was already treating the man.

A member of staff at the community centre said: "This incident has absolutely nothing to do with the centre or any of its staff."

One eye-witness said officers had a knife in an evidence bag and several people were being interviewed.

He added: "I saw the ambulance really low near the houses so I went to have a look. There was a guy on the floor he was making loads of noise. I think he had chest injuries. He was put in the air ambulance and taken away."
