Tunbridge Wells: Man allegedly drives at shopper after stealing TV from Asda in Longfield Road

A man allegedly drove his van at a shopper after stealing a TV from a Tunbridge Wells supermarket.

Officers investigating the incident on Thursday, November 19 have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist them.

At about 7.55pmthe victim saw a man leaving the Asda supermarket in Longfield Roadwith a television that had not been paid for.

He followed him into the car park and watched him get into a white van. After the vehicle reversed out of its space, the victim stood in front of the bonnet in an attempt to stop the man from leaving.

It is reported that the van then accelerated at speed into the victim, who suffered injuries to his neck and lower back as well as grazes to his knees.

The vehicle was then driven away in the direction of the North Farm roundabout on the A21.
