Man charged after stolen jewellery from Tunbridge Wells recovered from Tonbridge High Street shop

A man has been charged after suspected stolen jewellery was recovered from a high street business.

Between May 13 and November 9, five homes were targeted in Tunbridge Wells. A shop in Maidstone Road, Pembury, was also hit twice.

It was reported Jewellery, cash and food were stolen from the properties.

Forensics were carried out at the scenes in Sherwood and Pembury and the incidents were investigated by police.

Inquiries led to officers recovering stolen jewellery from a business on the Tonbridge High Street.

Yesterday (January 18) police arrested a man.

Gary Bentley, of no fixed address, was later charged with four burglaries, three counts of attempted burglary, and handling stolen goods.

The 46-year-old was remanded in custody before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (January 19).
