A potential witness to the 13 vehicle pile-up in Southborough has spoken with police following a public appeal to find them.
Investigators released an appeal to speak with the driver of a small silver van this morning and they made contact early in the afternoon.
It is believed the van driver stopped and spoke with the driver of a lorry that was involved in Wednesday's collision prior to the arrival of police officers.
The lorry was on St John’s Road, near the junction with East Cliff Road at the time and the actual incident took place in London Road at around 3.30pm.
The lorry driver driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and later released on bail pending further investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538, quoting incident reference 10-0875.
