Windows of Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells, smashed overnight

A homeless woman has been arrested after glass doors in a Tunbridge Wells shopping centre were smashed overnight.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at the Fiveways entrance to Royal Victoria Place at 5.15am.

Several glass doors were badly broken and a 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Today the shopping centre was open to the public but the area around the damaged doors was cordoned off.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene in Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells.

"A 40 year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and currently remains in custody whilst enquiries are ongoing."
