Police called to Showfields Road, Tunbridge Wells as 'dog taken away'

Police have been called to an incident which involved a dog being taken from a home.

Social media reported "lots of police cars and a van" in Showfields Road in Tunbridge Wells.

A police statement said this evening officers were called out at 1.52pm to help ambulance staff.

It continued: "It was reported that a man inside the address had suffered injuries to his arm after being bitten by his dog, and that the dog was not allowing anyone to enter or leave the property.

"Officers attended and all occupants were brought to safety by about 2.05pm.

"Specialist dog handlers also attended and safely removed the dog from the property before taking it away to police kennels."

One person said it was claimed officers were called to remove a Boxer-type dog.

Some reports said there were up to nine police cars and two vans.
