Tunbridge Wells kitchen devastated by washing machine fire

Half of a kitchen at a home in Tunbridge Wells has been damaged after a washing machine fire last night.

Crews were called to the scene in Shirley Gardens at 9.18pm, and took just over an hour to extinguish the blaze.

They then used a high pressure fan to clear the building of smoke.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Fifty percent of the kitchen was damaged by the blaze.

"There were no reported injuries."
