Mystery surrounds abandoned Southern Counties East match between Tunbridge Wells and Croydon

The Southern Counties East League will await a referee's report before making a decision over an abandoned game.

Tuesday night's Premier Division match between Tunbridge Wells and Croydon was abandoned by referee John Nazari with just three minutes left.

Neither side stated why the game was halted late on but Wells confirmed that they had advised the league.

In a tweet Tunbridge Wells said: "This isn't up for debate - I called the league last night with information who now have all details."

There were two red cards in the game which saw Wells lead 1-0 when it was abandoned.

League chairman Denise Richmond confirmed that they are awaiting the referee's report and added: "It may be that reports will be sent into the relevant county FAs and until that process has been completed we are unable to make any decisions."
