A229 re-opens after accident at Cranbrook

The busy A229 has reopened after earlier being closed in both directions due to a serious accident.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Hartley Road, Cranbrook, where a car and a motorcycle collided.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene for serious injuries and then flown to a London hospital by air ambulance.

The accident occurred at 7.30 this morning at the junction with Farmers Lane.

Traffic was held in both directons, but the road re-opened around 12noon.

Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any dashcam footage that may assist the investigation should call 01622 604100, quoting reference number 25-188.”
