German lorry driver Enreco Ruhm faces jail after crash on Staplehurst Road, Marden

A German lorry driver faces jail after admitting causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Enreco Ruhm, of Nuremburg, collided with Robert Gooch's Land Rover near Marden three days before Christmas.

The 36-year-old was driving on the A229 Staplehurst Road when the crash happened 300 metres from the junction with Summerhill Road.

Mr Gooch, aged in his 40s, had to be rushed to Kings College Hospital, London, with severe head, chest, stomach and leg injuries, with the key route closed for more than eight hours.

Ruhm will be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be decided and has been released on unconditional bail until then.
