Police and ambulance in Meadow Road, Tunbridge Wells, after reports of a man falling from a car park

An air ambulance rushed a man in a life threatening condition to a London Hospital after he fell from a car park in Tunbridge Wells.

Officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Meadow Road.

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: "Officers were called at 11am to reports a man had fallen from a car park in Meadow Road, Tunbridge Wells.

"He has been taken to a London hospital by air ambulance."

Police later erected a privacy screen at the scene.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports someone had fallen from height and one person was taken to a London hospital in a life threatening condition."

Residents reported seeing a helicopter and ambulances with sirens and flashing blue lights.

A spokeswoman for Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Essex confirmed it had been dispatched at around 11am to a location in the town.

The 254 Stagecoach South East Buses service is unable to stop at Royal Victoria Place shopping centre.

Brighton and Hove Buses also tweeted informing customers the BH29 service couldn't serve the mall and war memorial stops.

When reaching central station, the buses are using Church Road and A26 London Road to turn around and restart the journey.

The shopping centre remained open as normal and the road reopened after 2.30pm.

It comes less than a week after a man in his 40s died after falling from the multi-storey car park in Crescent Road.
