Man in ‘serious condition’ after assault in Bayham Road, Tunbridge Wells

A man in his 60s remains a serious condition in hospital after an alleged road-rage incident.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the victim was involved in an altercation with a driver in Bayham Road, Tunbridge Wells, at around 7.40pm on Saturday, June 17.

The man was walking in the road when he was allegedly assaulted and fell to the floor.

Patrols and paramedics were called to the location and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition with a head injury.

That day, officers arrested a 58-year-old man from Lamberhurst on suspicion of assault, who was later bailed pending further investigation.

Det Con Chris Welham, of West Kent CID, said: “We have been completing enquiries into this incident and are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact us.

“Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for footage that may assist our investigation.”
