A21 Lamberhurst shut as van driver suffers serious injuries in crash

A van driver has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash with a bus.

Police were called at 2.15pm following a collision on the London-bound carriageway of the A21 near Lamberhurst involving the bus and the van.

Officers, SECAmb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene where the van driver was treated for injuries described as serious.

He has been taken to a London hospital by air ambulance for further medical attention.

Both carriageways were closed between the Scotney Castle roundabout and the Lamberhurst roundabout while emergency services deal with the incident.

The road did not reopen until 7.30pm.
