Police issue images after Marden Rolex robbery

Police need help identifying two men they want to interview in connection with a robbery.

They have just released CCTV images although the incident took place back in October.

Joe Hoskins was at his home in Minstrel Close, Marden, at around 6pm on Tuesday, October 23, when he opened his front door to a knock.

A young man was standing there, who at first said he was looking for a lost dog. But then two other men, wearing hoods, appeared from around the corner and all three forced their way into the house.

Mr Hoskins said: "They punched and kicked me repeatedly and they were shouting and screaming at me to give them my watch.

"They forced me into the living room, where my wife Libby and our two kids were,"

The children, Kai aged two and a half, and Jessica, 10 months, witnessed the attack.

The men fled with Mr Hoskins' Rolex watch valued at around £10,000 and some of his wife's jewellery.

An examination of CCTV around Mr Hoskins' place of work, Kent Asbestos in Underlyn Lane, Marden, later revealed that the two men in the images issued by the police had three times visited the yard that day, appearing twice to look at the registration number of Mr Hoskins' Volkswagen Golf car. On their third visit, he had already left.

Mr Hoskins said their clothing was similar to that worn by his attackers.

He placed all three attackers in their early 20s and said he didn't know any of them. But he had only had the watch four to five months, so they clearly knew something about him.

The men who visited the yard were driving a Renault Clio five-door hatchback.

Kent Police ask that anyone who recognises the men in the CCTV image or has information about the robbery should contact the West Kent appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting reference YY/38480/18.
