A busy route was closed in the early hours of this morning following a four-car crash.

Police shut the A2990 Old Thanet Way near Millstrood Road in Whitstable following the accident shortly after 12.30am.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, but the extent of any injuries is not yet known.

The police and ambulance services have been asked for more information.

The road is now reopen.
