Bungalow goes up flames in suspicious fire in Graystone Road, Whitstable

A derelict bungalow not lived in for a decade has gone up in flames.

Fire crews tackled the suspicious blaze in Graystone Road, Whitstable , in the early hours of this morning.

They spent hours extinguishing the fire, which has left the home in a wreckage.

Police, who were also in attendance, are now treating the incident suspicious and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Neighbour Peter Bressington said: "You could see the flames on the roof of the bungalow - it's been totally destroyed.

"It's hasn't been lived in for about 10 years and it's been in a state of disrepair.

"We were woken up by blue flashing lights at about 3.15am.

"The fire service was here for about two-and-a-half hours."

No one is believed to have been inside the building at the time of the fire, and no one was reported injured.
