Police hunt balaclava-clad trio after ‘violent burglary’ in Whitstable

A trio of balaclava-clad burglars allegedly assaulted a man with a weapon in a house before making off with a large quantity of cash in a BMW.

The crime is reported to have taken place in The Warren, Whitstable at 7.45pm on February 12, 2024.

Police are now appealing for the public’s help as they investigate the matter.

A police spokesperson said: “During the burglary, three men are alleged to have entered the property.

“Once inside they used a weapon to assault a man before they stole a large quantity of cash.

“The trio are believed to have left the house around five minutes later where they were seen running along The Warren and turning left onto Lambs Walk.

“They are then believed to have got into a black BMW which was seen in the area at the time of the incident.”

The suspects have all been described as wearing balaclavas with holes around the eyes and mouth.

One was described as aged between 20 and 25 and around 5’8”, he was wearing a shiny light blue tracksuit top with darker blue edgings on the arms and a logo on the top. He also had black tracksuit bottoms and was wearing black gloves.

The second suspect was reported to be 35 to 40 years old, around 6’, and of slim build. He was dressed in a black tracksuit and had a local accent. He was also carrying a black backpack.

The third was described as having a stocky build and was seen wearing a darker brown three-quarter length coat.
