Police called to alley off Old Bridge Road near Whitstable train station following reports of serious assault

Three people have been arrested after a man in his 50s was reportedly stabbed near a train station.

Police were called to an alleyway off Old Bridge Road by Whitstable train station during the early hours of this morning following reports of a serious assault.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the victim was taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

He is currently in a stable condition.

A witness described seeing five police cars and armed officers at the station this morning. Police tape also covered ticket machines.

Now, detectives investigating are appealing for witnesses following the incident which happened at around 12.24am this morning (Sunday).

The spokeswoman said: “Officers have arrested three people in connection with the incident.

“A 32-year-old man from Margate, a 31-year-old woman from Margate and a 25-year-old man from Ramsgate.

“They all remain in custody while enquiries continue.

“Anyone with information or who may have dash cam footage that could assist officers with the investigation are urged to get in touch.”
