Proud mum salutes Hamstreet Primary School pupil's touching Children in Need gesture

A youngster with a muscle-wasting disorder donated the contents of his piggy bank after being moved by footage on Children in Need.

Cameron Henderson, eight, suffers from a disorder called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and is reliant on a wheelchair to keep him mobile.

But the Hamstreet Primary School pupil, who lives with his mum Michelle, dad Peter, and brothers Fraser and Alexander, has remained determined to persevere and not let his condition hold him back.

And so moved was he by the plight of some of the children on last Friday’s programme that he donated about £30 in small change from his savings.

His mum Michelle, 40, from Aldington, said: “Cameron was watching Children in Need, and said he was really lucky compared to the children on there.

"I’m just so proud of him,” she added.
