Travellers pitch up at Waterbrook Park in Ashford

Travellers have pitched up at an industrial estate - just hours after a group was moved from a playing field.

About 15 caravans pulled up at Waterbrook Park off Bad Munstereifel Road in Ashford yesterday evening.

It comes after a group was ordered off the Spearpoint playing field in Kennington yesterday afternoon.

It is not yet known if it is the same group, but Ashford Borough Council has been contacted for comment.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were called at about 5.30pm yesterday.

He said: "We were called to an unauthorised encampment in Waterbrook Avenue, Ashford.

"The land owner is aware and will be dealing with the matter, which is the standard procedure in terms of any eviction process."

Waterbrook Park is close to the Orbital Park estate in Sevington.
