The body of a Canterbury-based soldier has been repatriated today.

Private Joseva Vatubua served with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders 5th Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, based at Howe Barracks, Canterbury.

Joseva, who died on New Year's Day in an explosion in Helmand province, was flown to RAF Lyneham at around 11am.

He was then taken to Wootton Bassett for a procession through the streets, ahead of being sent to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.
