Police seek witnesses after cyclist comes off bike and suffers fractured skull on A2 near Barham

Police are trying to piece together what happened to a cyclist who suffered head injuries while riding on the A2.

The 63-year-old man suffered a fractured skull when he came off his bike on the London-bound carriageway near Barham.

Details have today been released about the crash, at 9.30am on Saturday, August 30.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but it is not yet known what caused him to fall off his bike.

PC Ryan Maxwell said: "The A2 is a busy stretch of road and we are sure people would have seen the cyclist.

"A number of cars stopped or slowed down during the incident to offer help and we would like to speak to those people and anyone who saw the incident take place.

"If you can help police build a picture of what happened, I would urge you to contact me as soon as possible."
