Canterbury wound up their home National League 3 South campaign by coming from behind to beat relegation threatened Barking 36-19.

The star of the show was fly-half Gert de Kock, who scored four tries and a conversion to finish the afternoon with 22 points.

Barking were the better side before the break and led 7-0 and 14-5 after tries from skiper Rob Batho and winger Adam Bishop, both converted by fly-half Harry Owens.

Canterbury's only success during the first half hour was a penalty try but right on half-time de Kock went over for his first try and the conversion from Kieron Lewitt cut the deficit to just two points.

The home side were a different proposition in the second period and within 20 minutes had carved out a 31-14 lead with a hat-trick of tries from de Kock, who added a superb touchline conversion.

Lewitt also converted one of the tries and although Barking rallied to grab another try through Bishop.

Canterbury winger Mike Melford had the final say going over for his side's sixth try in the dying seconds.
