Arrest after police helicopter hunt near Winchelsea Road, Dover

Police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic incident.

Emergency services were seen in Winchelsea Road, Dover, and a National Police Air Service helicopter was spotted in the skies above.

Police have tweeted that a man "wanted for a high risk domestic related incident" has been arrested.

A police spokesman later explained: "On September 29 Kent Police officers arrested a 24-year-old man in Winchelsea Terrace, Dover, on suspicion of false imprisonment and coercive and controlling behaviour.

"The man was arrested following a search of the area by patrols, assisted by the police helicopter.

"He remains in custody and enquiries continue."
