Men arrested over attempted kidnapping at Dover Priory Station

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap a young child at Dover Priory Station.

An 18-year-old from Thornton Heath, a 16-year-old from Feltham, a 15-year-old from Dagenham, a 15-year-old from Thornton Heath, and a 27-year-old of no fixed address were all arrested.

Four of the men were later released after officers followed other inquiries, including viewing CCTV footage from the scene.

British Transport Police were called to the station on Friday, May 29, at 3.47pm to reports of an attempt to take a child without its parents' permission.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “The 15-year-old from Thornton Heath was further arrested on suspicion of theft and he has been released on bail until Thursday, June 25, pending further inquiries.”
