Two fire engines were called to a blaze at a house yesterday.
It happened next to the First and Last pub in East Cliff, Dover.
Firefighters were there from 7.25pm until 8.55pm.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire on the first floor.
"There were no reported casualties and the cause is believed to be accidental.
"Kent Police also attended."
It is understood that the property, which had recently been sold, was in the middle of being renovated.
