A DOVER-based company has come to the rescue of the British Bobsleigh Team, including a local man.

Travelspot LLP are sponsoring the team that will hopefully be competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. But the team is still looking for more sponsors.

As well as providing financial support, Travelspot will also be supplying a complete European motoring kit bag for every vehicle in the Team.

Travelspot’s representative Peter Layton said: “We are really pleased to be involved with the British bobsleigh teams as driving safely in Europe is our expertise. The teams will be covering many miles across Europe during their winter racing campaign and it is a privilege to be able to ensure that they will be doing so safely and legally.”

The team were presented with the kit bags at the port before embarking with P&O Ferries en route to Italy to compete in the 2008/09 British Championships.

Former Dover school boy Jamie Devlin is the brakeman for the team and the other members are Keith McLaughlin, John Jackson, Matt Roberts and Roger Smith.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Jamie.devlin@bobteamgb.org.
