Two people were trapped inside their car after it was involved in a collision with "several lorries" at a notorious roundabout.

The incident happened on the A2 Whitfield roundabout at 1.47pm today.

Police officers and Kent Fire and Rescue are attending the incident, where a man and woman became trapped.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to the Whitfield roundabout, Dover at 1.47pm today following a report of a road traffic collision.

"It is reported that a car a several lorries were involved in the incident.

"Two people, a man and woman, were trapped inside their car and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene. They were not reported to have been seriously injured.

"Officers are on the scene."

The ambulance service are still in attendance.
