Trains delayed at Dover Priory after passenger locks themselves in toilet

Rail services were delayed after a passenger locked himself in a train toilet after suffering a "medical episode".

Trains were halted and British Transport Police officers were called to Dover Priory station to deal with the incident yesterday evening.

The passenger is said to have been locked in the toilet for an hour.

A Southeastern spokesman said: "At around 18:45 a passenger was refusing to leave the toilet of a train at Dover Priory station.

"The BTP were called to attend the incident and trains leaving this station were delayed between 5-10 minutes until 20:20."

A BTP spokesman confirmed the man had fallen ill and was taken to hospital at 9.30pm.
