Border Agency staff at Dover's Eastern Docks have seized 700 kilos of amphetamines and more than 120 kilos of cannabis said to be worth £6.3 million.

The drugs, destined for Northampton, were found in a consignment of coffee machines in the back of a Polish-registered vehicle on Tuesday.

Gracjan Marcin Zientara, 32, of Pila in Poland, was arrested, charged with drug smuggling offences and has been remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Dover Magistrates Court again in December.
