Ferry services hit as lorries overturn

AN ACCIDENT at the Port of Calais has led to delays for ferry services across the Channel from Dover today.

It is understood that two lorries being driven off a ferry overturned when a gangway rope snapped after the ship arrived at the French port. Three people were injured.

The berth was closed so that recovery operations and an investigation could be carried out. P&O Ferries and SeaFrance sailings have been affected.
