DFDS and P&O Ferries advise Dover passengers during Calais port workers’ strike

Cross-Channel sailings are being affected by strike action in France today, a ferry company has warned.

DFDS says because of the effect on the Dover to Calais route it is offering sailings on the Dover to Dunkirk route as an alternative.

The action by the French workers, expected to last 24 hours, began at midnight.

A DFDS spokesman said: “Strike action by port workers in Calais is affecting sailings on DFDS' Dover-Calais route today.

“Passengers will be offered the option to transfer onto its Dover-Dunkirk service, which is unaffected.”

The company says extra sailings on that route will be provided to keep traffic moving if volumes build up today.

Customers are advised to check DFDS’ live travel updates web page or follow its @DFDSUKUpdates profile on X – formerly called Twitter – for updated information throughout the day.

P&O Ferries this morning on X listed its sailings from Dover up to 3.25pm as running on time so far.

It advises passengers to keep checking its tweets feed for updates.
