GBH charge after road crash

A man has been charged with seriously injuring another man by driving at him while over the alcohol limit.

The 31-year-old victim was struck by a car after being involved in an argument in Northbourne Avenue, Dover, in the early hours of Saturday.

He is being treated for serious head injuries in the Royal London Hospital where his condition is described as "critical but stable".

Paul Russell, 41, of Henniker Close, Whitfield, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and drink driving.

The victim’s leg was also fractured and he was originally taken to the William Harvey Hospital before being transferred to the hospital in London

Mr Russell is due to appear before magistrates in Folkestone today (Monday.)
