Free tickets are now available for the open-air showing of the film Grease at Connaught Park, Dover, next month.

The event, on Friday, August 22, with gates opening at 7pm, is being organised by the district council, and supported by CJ Grays.

Entry is by ticket only and the film will start around sunset.

Visitors are welcome to bring picnics, and there will be food and drink on sale. There is free parking in the town’s car parks after 6pm.

The event marks the 30th anniversary of the film.

Tickets can be collected from the district council’s area offices and the main council offices at Whitfield, with a maximum of five tickets per person on a first-come, first-served basis.

People must provide proof of being a district resident and be over 18 to collect a ticket.

Cllr Nigel Collor, the council’s cabinet member for access and property management, said: "Connaught Park is a superb setting for events like this, and following the tremendous success of last year’s event, we are looking forward to another great evening."
