Disney Magic cruise ship draws in fans during long stay at Dover

It has been moored up for weeks, but a Disney cruise ship is continuing to draw visitors from across the county.

Disney Magic, which has a huge Goofy hanging from the stern, can't be missed by motorists heading into Dover.

The 11-deck luxury ship, stationed at the western docks since its arrival in Kent on May 19, has become a temporary attraction for the town.

Those hoping to get a closer view of the 2,700-passenger vessel can do so by walking to the end of the recently-opened Marina Pier.

Disney announced last month that the liner will be out of action until early October, so it's stay in Kent could still be lengthy.

Large silhouettes of Mickey Mouse are painted on the ship's red funnels and the vessel's horn blasts out the well-known Pinocchio tune, When You Wish Upon a Star.

It was the first cruise ship launched by the world famous company in the late 90s and made its inaugural visit to Dover in 2010.

It has been no stranger to Dover in recent years, with Disney cruises to Norway and Iceland launching from the port.

Those viewing the liner from Marina Pier will easily be able to see a number of the ship's attractions including the hanging Goofy, water slide and restaurant.

The luxury ship, which has almost 1,000 crew members, is registered to the port of Nassau in the Bahamas.

Meanwhile, Disneyland Paris is due to reopen to the public on Wednesday.
