Log burner fire at Wallett's Court hotel prompts 999 call

Hotel workers dialled 999 after a log burner fire got out of control.

Firefighters from Dover were called at about 3pm yesterday to Wallett's Court in Dover Road, Westcliffe.

They used a thermal imaging camera and chimney rods to prevent it from spreading.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "They went up into the loft space to make sure the fire hadn't spread into the roof."

It was cleared within the hour and no one was evacuated from the premises.
