FIRE crews have been tackling a lorry fire at Dover's Western Docks this morning. The blaze broke out in the vehicle at Elizabeth Street just before 9am.

Traffic was delayed on the A20 Dover to Folkestone road as thick smoke billowed across the carriageway.

Furniture and textile items in the back of the lorry were damaged and were later being salvaged by the firefighters from Dover and Whitfield.

Investigators are examing the wreckage to try to determine the cause of the blaze.
