Dover man allegedly assaulted police after he appeared to be drink driving at the McDonald's drive thru in Whitfield

A man from Dover allegedly assaulted a police officer after he was believed to be drink-driving at the McDonald’s drive thru.

Police were called to the Whitfield branch early on Sunday morning to reports a man appeared to be drunk whilst driving.

Officers arrested Ruslanas Urbonavicius, 37, of Archers Court Road, on suspicion of drink driving.

As the officers were making the arrest, he allegedly resisted and kicked one in the head and spat at the other.

He was subsequently charged with three alleged offences; failing to provide a specimen for analysis and two counts of assaulting a police officer.

He was released on bail to appear before Folkestone Magistrates on Monday, December 14.
