Man killed in crash named

The man who died after an accident on the Alkham Valley Road,on the outskirts of Dover early on Thursday has been identified.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene, near Bushy Ruff, at 3.20am when a car collided with a tree.

Shane Clubb - a 41-year-old man from Ewell Minnis - was found at the scene unconscious and was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford where he was pronounced dead.

There were fears that another person may have been thrown from the vehicle, and fire crews used thermal imaging equipment and torches to search the area.

But police later confirmed that no one else was injured and no other vehicles were thought to have been involved.
