Three Dover men and 16-year-old German boy released without charge after suspected stabbing in Canterbury

Three Dover men arrested on suspicion of stabbing another Dover man in Canterbury city centre have been released without charge.

Police were called to a disturbance in St George’s Street in Canterbury at 6.15pm after a fight broke out in the street on Thursday, August 27.

A 22-year old man from Dover was believed to have been stabbed, but his injuries were not thought to be serious.

He was treated and was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.

Police also arrested a 16-year-old boy from Germany on suspicion of assault, a second 22-year-old man from Dover on suspicion of affray and a 21-year-old man from Dover on suspicion of assault and affray.

A girl in her teens also suffered minor injuries.

The 16-year-old was dealt with through restorative justice, which involved him apologising to the victim.

A police spokesman said: “None of the other parties involved wished to support a prosecution and so all three Dover men arrested were released without charge.”
