Mum says thanks to stranger who helped daughter

The mother of a teenage girl who was attacked by another girl in Dover at the weekend has thanked a woman who came to her aid.

The incident happened in Pencester Road at 4pm on Saturday when the 14-year-old was allegedly harassed for more than 20 minutes before a fight broke out.

"My daughter did not even know the other girl," said the mother.

"She received multiple punches to the face. Amazingly, people in the area did nothing, they did not even call the police.

"Thankfully, a lady did step in and pulled my daughter out.

"She put her in her car, comforted her and then asked where she would like to go.

"I am so very grateful to this kind lady, and suspect that if she had not stepped in, my daughter would have received more injuries.

"We would like to thank this woman, who apparently was quite tall, dressed in a hippy or ethnic style, drove a red car and had her little boy with her."

The mother has asked the woman to contact the Mercury so she can thank her personally.

The Mercury can be contacted at 25 High Street, Dover, phone 01304 206955, or email mercurynews@thekmgroup.co.uk
