Police 'particularly concerned' for missing man from Guston, near Dover

Detectives say they are "particularly concerned" for the welfare of a missing man.

Brian McConnell was last seen on Wednesday, January 5, before he left his home in Guston, near Dover, on foot.

Today, Deal, Langdon Battery and Folkestone Coastguard Rescue Teams have been assisting Kent Police with the search in the area.

The helicopter was also seen over the town.

Mr McConnell is 58-year-old, white, 5 ft 10 ins, of stocky build and has short brown hair.

He occasionally wears glasses and it is not known what clothing he was wearing went he went missing.

Insp Stephen Moat said: "We are particularly concerned for Brian’s welfare and are appealing to anyone who has seen him or knows where he might be to contact us."

He is urging anyone with information to call police on 999, quoting the reference number 06-0227.
